Matt Geller

Is a native Texan and works with clients all across North Texas. He openly admits his Texas pride and is obviously partial to Texas folk. He also says he does not plan on leaving Texas anytime soon. In a recent interview Matt gave he was quoted as saying: “What’s not to love about Texas?” We have southern hospitality, great food, great people, and an excellent place to raise a family and run a good healthy business. Even in the downturn in 2008, this state remained to be the most resilient in terms of our economy and business. Texas is and always will be the toughest and greatest state there ever was.”

Matt Geller’s philosophy in business:

Work hard for your clients, always be a student and continue learning (technology/legal rules and regulations change daily), always be honest (even when your client might not want to hear it - lawyers, can you relate to this with your clients?), always play to win (if you are not competitive, you shouldn’t be a small business owner), always create long and prosperous business relationships, and lastly, never guarantee anything and rather put together solutions using hard data.

While running such a nice business as Matt does, he has constantly heard the question over the years, “How did you begin a business creating digital marketing solutions for solo and small law firms? This seems so random…” So, how did Matt create a thriving business in strategic marketing for the small law world? While Matt’s business is certainly niche, if anyone were to have a quick glance at his family bloodline and their education/careers, it actually makes perfect sense. Have a look below and you will see the extensive experience Matt’s bloodline carries in both the Legal and Marketing world:

Matt’s whole family is of Eastern European descent all immigrating to New York City via Ellis Island. We can begin with Matt’s Grandfather being the first to get into the legal field and begin the trend in the family.

Edwin “Ed” H. Dembicer: (1928-2010)

A native of Brooklyn, NY, Edwin H. Dembicer had a long and remarkable career.  He was a boy wonder who graduated from military high school at sixteen, then matriculated at New York University and New York Law School nearly year round to earn his law degree at the tender age of twenty.  After passing his bar exam, he had to wait until his twenty-first birthday before he was old enough to be legally admitted to the bar.

Ed practiced law for forty-one year as senior partner of his own firm in Manhattan and Lynbrook, NY.  During those years he touched many legal bases.  He practiced civil and commercial litigation and business law and was admitted to practice law before the U.S. Supreme Court.  He was also appointed to serve as a judge of the New York Court of Claims.

Glenn “Pops” Geller: (Matt’s Father)

An insatiable curiosity combined with the need to always seek the "why" behind consumer, business and societal behavior is the perfect combination for a Planning and Insights guy. Leaning into data and deriving insight to craft strategic marketing and communication solutions to build clients business never loses its appeal. As Director of Planning & Insights he guided strategy and messaging for brands such as American Airlines, Bank of America, JCPenney, MetroPCS, Nationwide Insurance,  Subaru of America and USAA just to name a few.

Leslye Geller: (Matt’s Mother)

Before founding Odyssey Research Consultants in 2008, Leslye held senior-level positions, including Managing Director, with JWT Specialized Communications (a division of J Walter Thompson) and other well-known advertising agencies.  In 2008, she founded Odyssey Research Consultants, a strategic insight-driven marketing research consultancy offering a full spectrum of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to help clients develop marketing and communication solutions that drive business both in the short and long-term.
